Two sets of awards will be presented: awards from official contest judges plus Members' Choice Awards. All SNPA members who have created a LOGIN to www.snpa.org by July 10 will receive a personalized code that will allow them to vote on awards in the Members' Choice Awards.
Many employees of SNPA members have already created LOGINs. If you need instructions for creating your LOGIN, click MORE at the end of this article for directions.
The 2015 SNPA Photo / Video Contest includes four contest categories:
- Spot news photos
- Sports photos
- Feature photos
- Videos – Videos cannot be longer than 10 minutes; maximum file size is 200 MB. Any commercials may be stripped from the video to place it under the 10-minute requirement. (Video format should be one of the following: .avi, .dv, .mov, .qt, .mp4, .mpeg, .3gp, .asf, .wmv or .mpg)
ENTRY FEES AND SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRIES: Photo and/or video entries are $20 each. There is no limit on the number of entries a photographer may submit in either the video or photo categories.

Dania Maxwell of the Naples Daily News in Naples, Fla., has been awarded top honors in SNPA's 2014 Photo Contest.
She was recognized with first-place honors in the video category, as well as the overall Grand Prize for a video titled "Little Man and the Pursuit of Happiness" – the story of a young man and his battle with brain cancer.
The SNPA Photo / Video Contest recognizes and rewards excellence in newspaper photography. As the Grand Prize winner, Maxwell receives a $1,000 prize and an engraved award.
First-place in the spot news category was awarded to Rick McFarland of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock.
The first-place sports winner was Michael Woods, Northwest Arkansas Newspapers, Fayetteville.
First-place in the feature category went to Tim Fischer of the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Midland, Texas.
