With Election Day 2018 just two weeks away, McClatchy is making its journalists more accessible than ever to media outlets across the country. Three McClatchy newsrooms are now equipped with VideoLink's ReadyCam television studio systems. Leading journalists based at the Miami Herald, The Sacramento Bee and McClatchy's Washington bureau are now available for interviews to provide regional and national media outlets with on-camera insight and analysis for some of this election year's most high-stakes races.

Over the summer, the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch asked readers to share their hopes for the local community – and readers responded with aspirational and thoughtful ideas for Richmond's future.

At the paper's 75th RTD Public Square, the staff will share readers' collected hopes along with survey results from research they conducted on the same topic. "We're excited about the results, and we think that some of the ideas might surprise you," the paper notes in its promotion of this special event.

This will be the Richmond Times-Dispatch's 75th installment of RTD Public Square.

Tom Silvestri honored with Mayborn Leadership Award 10/11/18

Thomas A. Silvestri, president and publisher of the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch, was the recipient of the 2018 Frank W. Mayborn Leadership Award, presented Thursday morning at the SNPA News Industry Summit.

The award is named for Texas newspaperman Frank Mayborn, whose foresight and guidance helped shape SNPA in the early 1950s and who served as president of SNPA from 1961 to 1962.

The Times moves to 5-day print schedule Dec. 24 10/8/18

The Times (Gainesville, Ga.) this week announced it will be making significant changes in its printed editions by the end of the year.

As of Dec. 24, The Times will no longer have printed Monday or Tuesday editions, moving to a five-day-per-week print cycle.

Content will continue to be produced and posted digitally seven days a week, and subscribers will continue to have full digital access to fresh content daily.
