Seguin Gazette announces management change 5/1/18

There's a new face behind the desk at the Seguin Gazette's corner office. Advertising Director Elizabeth Engelhardt has assumed the role of general manager.

Engelhardt is taking over for the Gazette's former publisher, Jeff Fowler.


School board should have listened 9/18/17

The Seguin Gazette, a five-day newspaper with a daily circulation of 3,500, is the winner in the under-50,000 division of the 2017 Carmage Walls Commentary Prize. Editor and Publisher Jeff Fowler and Managing Editor Travis Webb won for a series of editorials and a column criticizing what they described as "extravagant" spending on the part of the members of the Seguin Independent School District board of trustees.


Cranking up the heat on life in Seguin 9/29/14

As the temperature rose this summer, the Seguin Gazette was busy launching its new quarterly magazine called Sizzle. Reader and advertiser response to the first issue was so good the staff had to add extra pages to the just released fall issue.


Anniversary edition takes readers back 125 years 9/4/13

The Watauga Democrat celebrated 125 years of publication with a gala and museum exhibit, plus a front page in the style of its early days, complete with authentic fonts, typography and design. It also produced a special section revisiting stories of local significance from the past.
