Wilson Times Co. purchases Wake Weekly newspapers 2/5/19

The Wake Weekly newspaper group – The Wake Forest Weekly and its zoned editions in Rolesville and Franklin County along with the Butner-Creedmoor News – are operating under new ownership.

Publisher and Executive Editor Todd Allen has sold the newspapers, along with marketing agency Kingsdale Media, to The Wilson Times Co., a growing print and digital media company with a daily paper and two other weeklies in its publishing portfolio.

North Carolina paper sells ads for elementary school folders 11/13/18

When elementary school children in Wilson, N.C., go home with communications folders for their parents, so do ads from The Wilson Times.

"Our advertisers love it, because it's not very often that we can give them an opportunity for something that will last so long. We give them visibility throughout the school year," said Shana Hoover, director of sales and marketing for The Times.

The promotion is in its second school year and was presented at a recent SNPA P2P video conference. The ad space sold out in a week, generating $6,455.

Rick Thomason named Times-News publisher; Justin Wilcox NETmg president 11/17/16

Keith Wilson, long serving publisher of the Kingsport Times-News and president of SNG's Northeast Tennessee Marketing Group (NETmg), will be retiring at the end of this year. Rick Thomason will succeed Wilson and also serve as senior vice president/content for the five Tri Cities area SNG newspapers. He will begin transition work full time on Dec. 12 in Kingsport.

Brad Ward to succeed Mark Wilson as TownNews CEO 9/6/16

Marc Wilson, chief executive officer of TownNews.com, a subsidiary of Lee Enterprises, Inc., has been named executive chairman of the company. Brad Ward, who currently serves as COO, will become CEO, the company said Friday. The changes become effective Oct. 1.
