Amarillo Globe-News to use My Team Scoop for high school sports

Posted

The Amarillo Globe-News will utilize Presteligence's My Team Scoop high school sports platform to post scores and schedules for 52 schools for the Northeast Texas Panhandle.

The paper's coverage will be part of the Lonestar Varsity High School site, which was deployed by Morris Communication's sister paper, Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, last year through the My Team Scoop platform.

"By embracing the Lonestar Varsity brand, it becomes a powerhouse resource for high school sports in Northeast Texas Panhandle and South Plains," says Darci Heiskell, director of digital operations at Amarillo.  "Our schools play each other so it makes sense to combine our resources." The Home teams in the coverage area will take the lead in covering events via Game Tracker, which provides a play-by-play account of the game in real time.

Amarillo Globe-News will join Baltimore Sun, Utica Observer-Dispatch, Daily Ardmoreite, Stockton Record, Charleston Newspapers, Erie Times-News and Beaver County Times in launching this for the 2015 football season.  Other media partners currently using My Team Scoop include 1480 WHBC Radio, www.whbcsports.com, Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, www.Lonestarvarsity.com, and AIM Media Texas newspaper, www.RGVSports.com
