The 2014 Second Street Awards winners & finalists

At the 6th annual Second Street Awards, Second Street celebrated some of the best promotions work being done by its nearly 3,000 media partners.

Over the years since the the awards began, Second Street says its partners have been generating more and more revenue and decisions about contest winners have been getting harder and harder.

Winners were announced in five promotion categories, with several SNPA members being among the group.

  • Best Overall Promotion
  • Contests (The Bristol Herald Courier in Virginia was a finalist for its Auto Racing Challenge, which generated $75,000 in revenue. The Winston-Salem Journal in North Carolina was a finalist for its Cutest Couples Photo Contest.  The Evansville Courier & Press in Indiana won the Best Sweepstakes Contest for its Help for the Holidays Sweepstakes. And, the Winston-Salem Journal was a finalist in Best Promotion for Advertiser Results category.)
  • Ballots (The Naples Daily News in Florida was a finalist for the Best Metro Ballet.)
  • Ecommerce Promotions (The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C., was a finalist in two categories: Best Recreation Deal and Best Seasonal Store or Theme Week)
  • Promotions Programs (BH Media Group placed first for Best Group-Wide Promotions Strategy, with The E.W. Scripps Company being named a finalist in the same category.)
