What sets winners apart?

Posted

There are two great differences that set winners apart from others.  We like to think winners are just lucky to be in the right spot at the right time or that they were born into the right family.  However, history tells us that there are things winners do – and winners of the past have done – to make them winners.

Successful people have a "single purpose" that passionately integrates who they are and all they do.  They clearly define a goal they want and focus completely toward it.  This makes it possible to save themselves from wasting their lives in shallow and superficial activities that mean little or have nothing to do with who they are or where they want to go.

For the person who knows where he/she is going, the whole world gets out of the way.  For the individual who does not, the world becomes a playground filled with nothingness.  For those with a "single purpose," decision making is easier.

Winners also form habits that help them achieve the goals they set. These habits:

  • Put emphasis on integrity, commitment, values, accountability and creativity.
  • Help them become the best version of themselves.
  • Create character – the winner's destiny.

The time is now.  If you truly want success and want to be a winner, decide what you really want and put all your thoughts and actions into moving toward it while developing the character habits that will assist you in your pursuit.  Those who want to do it will do it now!
