Reflector announces editorial changes

Al Clark, executive editor of The Daily Reflector (Greenville, N.C.), will retire this summer from the post he has held for the past 25 years, Publisher John K. Cooke Jr. announced. Reflector Associate Editor Bobby Burns has been named his successor.

Clark, 67, will remain in the newsroom in a part-time role, continuing to write columns and editorials and assisting reporters and editors as needed, Cooke said. The newsroom changes will be effective Aug. 1.

"Working with Bobby these past six years made the decision to offer the editor's position to him an easy one," Cooke said. "The Reflector continues its tradition of having a strong, talented editor leading the newsroom with savvy, reporting the news of our community with zeal. The Reflector's readership will certainly benefit with Bobby at the helm and Al remaining an important presence in the newsroom."
