The Dallas Morning News recently announced changes to the publication's award-winning fashion, design and lifestyle franchise. The Morning News' flagship luxury magazine, FD Luxe has been renamed, simply, FD, and has launched a bi-annual wedding edition called FD Love. In addition, Lindsay Jacaman has been named group publisher of FD, FD Love and the Design Guide.

Originally called Fashion Dallas, FD is building on the the publication's roots of more than 35 years of fashion and style coverage. As the luxury lifestyle magazine team continues expanding, Jacaman was selected to lead the refreshed franchise due to her extensive sales and publishing experience with The Wall Street Journal and Modern Luxury.

"The changes to FD give us more flexibility to extend the brand," said Jim Moroney, publisher and chief executive officer of the Morning News. "The addition of Lindsay Jacaman as publisher provides the perfect complement to editor Rob Brinkley to plan and execute a growth strategy for FD."

Jacaman will also maintain her current role as general manager of digital marketing services for The Dallas Morning News. Her position also includes the title of chief revenue officer for Speakeasy, the Morning News' content marketing and social media agency.

She replaces Rich Alfano, who will be tasked with creating new strategies to grow audiences and revenue, including the Hispanic segment, for all of the Morning News' vertical and niche businesses. Alfano will also remain publisher of Briefing, and have multiple content areas reporting directly through him, including sports and entertainment.

In addition, Mary Poe, who recently joined the FD team from D Magazine, has been named associate publisher over all three publications and will be responsible for partnerships, marketing and sales.

"The FD franchise is evolving, and our team has exciting plans for the future to engage new readers," said Jacaman. "Both Mary and I are honored to join FD, and we look forward to continuing the growth and success of the magazines."

Since its 2012 redesign, FD has won "Best Niche Product" from the Society for Features Journalism for two consecutive years. The publication also won seven design and photography awards from The Society of News Design earlier in 2014.

"To say I'm proud of what FD has become – and where it is going – is an understatement," said Rob Brinkley, editor-in-chief of FD. "We've got our readers wanting more, and we have industry awards to affirm what we've done. We have big plans for FD and for future publications."

FD covers the luxury lifestyle, including fashion, art, design, food, travel, automobiles and culture. The new wedding magazine, FD Love, covers weddings, gowns, rings and cakes, but also romance, relationships and other topics that interest readers. Jacaman noted the team is also exploring additional opportunities to expand the franchise.
