Brandon Erlacher has been named publisher of the Ogden (Utah) Standard-Examiner and vice president of Ogden Publishing Co., part of the Sandusky Newspaper Group (SNG). He also will serve as SNG's corporate vice president for strategic data. This is a new position within the group designed to help the company understand and use "Big Data" to grow its business, indicates Doug Phares, SNG president/COO.

Erlacher was previously vice president of business analytics and technology for Federated Media, the parent company of the Elkhart (Ind.) Truth where he had been publisher previously. During his tenure, The Truth focused on community journalism and digital initiatives. Flavor 574, the Truth's online food magazine, won the Hoosier State Press Association's James W. Brown Innovation in 2014, while elkharttruth.com won dozens of awards from the Local Media Association for its design and content in 2014 and 2015, and the Indiana Associated Press Media Editors honored "Five Years Later," The Truth's look at the Great Recession, as the state's best newswriting in 2014.

The Sandusky Newspaper Group operates 12 community newspapers, 31 websites, a variety of email newsletters, and NET 360, a full-service digital ad agency. It operates in Utah, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee with a focus on providing a strong, local media voice in those communities through digital and
traditional media, centered on the solid newspaper brand.
