N.C. Halls of Fame adds WEHCO CEO

Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Publisher Walter E. Hussman Jr. has been inducted into the North Carolina Halls of Fame in Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Hussman and seven other leaders in journalism and strategic communications were honored by the University of North Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Hussman, who is also president and chief executive officer of WEHCO Media Inc., earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the university and an MBA from Columbia University.

Other journalism inductees include Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC's Hardball, and Harry Amana, the first black journalism professor at the university. Kim Stone, executive vice president of the Miami Heat and general manager of Miami's American Airlines Arena, is a public relations inductee.
