Lee Leschper, a long-time Alaska advertising executive, is retiring from his role as regional vice president of Morris Media Network, Alaska.  During his tenure at MMN Alaska, Leschper was responsible for overseeing operations for the Morris magazines and newspapers based in Anchorage, including Alaska Magazine, The Milepost and the Alaska Journal of Commerce.  He had previously served as corporate vice president of classified advertising for all Morris Publishing Group newspapers, as well as vice president of advertising for the Anchorage Daily News.

Originally from Boerne, Texas, Leschper came to Alaska in 2004 as the Alaska regional advertising director for Morris newspapers from Juneau to Homer. Leschper has worked in newspaper and advertising leadership roles for more than 35 years.

Leschper is active in Anchorage community organizations including Commonwealth North, The Support Industry Alliance and Downtown Rotary.

"It's been a wonderful and rewarding experience working with the Morris family and family of publications. I see nothing but great things in the years to come for them," Leschper said.

"Lee has worked in many roles within our company, through some challenging times in our industry, and we wish him well in the future," said William S. Morris III, chairman and CEO of Morris Communications Co.

Les Simpson, regional publisher for Morris Publishing Group, LLC and publisher of the Amarillo (Texas) Globe-News, will oversee the Anchorage operation.
