Times-News' Mauney takes over as Asheboro publisher

Paul W. Mauney, publisher of the Times-News in Burlington, N.C., is taking on expanded duties as publisher of The Courier-Tribune in Asheboro, N.C.

Mauney, 47, takes over for Diane Winnemuller, who was moved into the publisher's position at the Northwest Florida Daily News in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Mauney will remain publisher of both the Times-News and The Dispatch (Lexington, N.C.).

Until a general manager is hired for the Courier-Tribune, Mauney's time will be divided between offices in Burlington and Asheboro. Mauney said the search for a general manager who would be based in Asheboro full-time is already underway.
