Northern Virginia Media Services continues to grow

Northern Virginia Media Services has been awarded Department of Defense contracts to publish two local military base newspapers, the Belvoir Eagle and the Quantico Sentry.

Coupled with the addition of the Stafford County Sun, the company's community newspapers now reach nearly 200,000 households every week across Northern Virginia.

The Belvoir Eagle serves the Fort Belvoir Army installation in southeastern Fairfax County and is distributed for free every week to all the homes on the installation, as well as to most office buildings and public locations.  Distribution includes the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency headquarters and the Washington Headquarters Services at the Mark Center in Alexandria. Likewise, the Quantico Sentry is distributed for free to homes and offices on Marine Corps Base Quantico, in southeastern Prince William County, and is online at www.quanticosentryonline.com.

Under the terms of the contracts, Northern Virginia Media Services provides editorial support, sells advertising, and prints and delivers the base newspapers.  Content is generated under the auspices of the respective public affairs offices.

The Stafford County Sun, a weekly newspaper distributed in northern Stafford, also joined the Northern Virginia Media Services' lineup this month.  Stafford online content can be found at www.staffordcountysun.com but eventually will be consolidated with the company's popular regional news site, InsideNoVa.com.

Northern Virginia Media Services publishes five other weekly newspapers in four counties: Leesburg Today and Ashburn Today in Loudoun County; the Sun Gazette serving Great Falls, McLean, Oakton, Tysons and Vienna in Fairfax County; the Arlington Sun Gazette, and Prince William Today.  The company also publishes a monthly newspaper, Middleburg Life, and Washington FAMILY Magazine, a monthly parenting guide distributed throughout the Washington metropolitan area.  Its other websites are InsideNoVa.com, LeesburgToday.com and WashingtonFamily.com.
