Gannett deploys NewsXtreme in five more print sites

Consolidation project almost complete

Presteligence announces the installation of NewsXtreme into five Gannett print sites and NewsXtreme Lite at Dickinson Press.

The Courier-Journal (Louisville, Ky.), The Tennessean (Nashville), The Jackson (Tenn.) Sun, Wilmington News Journal, Cherry Hill Courier-Post, and Boston Offset are among the most recent Gannett sites to have their print production and commercial jobs managed through NewsXtreme and NewsXtreme Portal.

Project management for each site begins with remote set-up of the system followed by on-site configuration and training. Any tweaks and fine-tuning can be adjusted through VPN if needed. From start to finish, an installation generally takes one to two weeks. The entire consolidation project is slated for completion within the next few months.

Meanwhile, Forum Communication's Dickinson Press has deployed NewsXtreme Lite for live production in conjunction with its CTP upgrade project.  The transition to an automated workflow has made a significant impact to the production process.  Editorial staff can now upload, send and resend pages, which helps out the pressroom greatly, according to Jeremy Kadrmas, production manager.  Dickenson Press joins four other Forum Communication properties that use NewsXtreme.
