Photo / Video Contest finalists are named

SNPA has announced the finalists in this year's Photo / Video Contest. Photos submitted by the following photographers have placed in the top three in one of the four contest categories.

Finalists are:

  • Dania Maxwell, Naples Daily News, Naples, Fla.
  • Heather McClelland, The Advocate, Baton Rouge, La.
  • Rick McFarland, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Little Rock
  • Gerry Melendez, The State, Columbia, S.C.
  • Jennifer Reynolds, Galveston County Daily News, Galveston, Texas
  • Michael Woods, Northwest Arkansas Newspapers, Fayetteville


    • The winners will be announced in each of the contest categories – spot news, news features, sports and artistic expression – on Wednesday morning, Oct. 8, at SNPA's News Industry Summit in Charlottesville, Va. In addition, nine more entries will be recognized with Honorable Mentions.

    The winners of the Photo / Video Awards, together with the photos and judges' comments, will be posted on the SNPA website following the announcement in Charlottesville.
