Every year, printing operations that utilize Southern Lithoplate digital solutions succeed in achieving recognition in print quality programs to benefit the graphic communications industry. These include the Specifications for Newsprint Advertising Production (SNAP) Certificate Program. Southern Lithoplate congratulates top-performing newspapers and newspaper printers on earning SNAP certification in 2013.

The recently announced SNAP Certificate recipients that submitted impressive graded samples printed with Southern Lithoplate products are Gannett Publishing Services in Boston/Norwood, Mass.; Gannett Publishing Services in Springfield, Va.; The (Phoenix) Arizona Republic; The Atlanta Journal-Constitution; The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn.; and The Villages (Fla.) Daily Sun.

SNAP is the standard for attaining reproduction quality in coldset web printing. In order to gain SNAP certification, coldset commercial printers and newspapers demonstrate mastery of the internationally recognized set of specifications through a series of stringent tests.

"Our congratulations to all the successful customers who continue to meet high print reproduction standards," said Steve Mattingly, senior vice president. "Southern Lithoplate is committed to working closely with our customers to improve printing techniques and quality. We support global benchmarking and the development of guidelines that help print providers accurately reproduce content on press. The SNAP testing process creates better printers."
