SNPA is hosting four candid small-group meetings among non-competitive peers in July and August. The programs are designed to achieve a level of candor and detail – including financial detail – that is rarely achieved in conventional venues.

Reid Ashe, former COO of Media General, will serve as moderator of the programs.  He will lead discussions to explore in depth the strategies that work and don't work in today's newspaper industry.

To be most effective, SNPA will confirm a minimum of five people, and a maximum of nine executives in each group.  If you want to participate, please contact Edward VanHorn (edward@snpa.org) right away with the date and location of the program you would like to attend.

Here are the dates, locations and additional details:

30-40,000 circulation:

  • July 20-21 in Atlanta

Under 10,000 circulation:

  • July 22-23 in Atlanta
  • August 5-6 in Houston

15-20,000 circulation:

  • August 13-14 in Charlotte

All of the programs will be held at airport hotels.  Each program will begin at 1 p.m. and end the following day around 2 p.m.  SNPA will host a group dinner at each gathering.

Everyone present will sign a nondisclosure agreement and observe guidelines to assure compliance with antitrust law.

The costs of the meeting – the fee for the moderator, meeting room, food and beverage – will be prorated among the participants.
