Sandusky Newspaper Group commits to Libercus digital-first publishing system

Posted

The Sandusky Newspaper Group will implement the Libercus multi-channel content management system developed by E. Viddal & Associates LLC of Tampa, Fla., across all print and digital channels.

Libercus is a state-of-the-art publishing system. It provides seamless delivery of content to print, online, mobile device and e-Delivery channels that empowers publishers to build new sources of revenue while cutting overhead expenses.

"The Libercus platform is a leap forward in content management technology. We are committed to content as the core of primary business but were frustrated with the offerings of legacy systems. This cuts out a dozen or more of those and puts our creators in the driver's seat – where they belong," said Sandusky Newspaper Group President Doug Phares.

Libercus runs in a standard Web browser and is designed specifically for operation within the cloud. It allows publishers to realize savings by eliminating the need for multiple publishing systems, improving workflow and reducing technical support requirements. Libercus opens the door to the next generation of advertising options necessary for publications to thrive in the digital revolution.

"Libercus was developed from scratch using the best current technology. The real upside was eliminating the need to duct-tape systems together in
the background. We believe this installation will give us significant savings on IT and hosting coupled to real productivity growth from our most talented staff," said Patrick O'Brien, director of product development at Sandusky Newspaper Group.

"We are excited to have the Sandusky Newspaper Group as a new client. Libercus is designed to address the needs of media groups seeking to consolidate and standardize on a single, group-wide publishing system for  multi-channel publishing. Moving to a single system allows media groups to fully leverage development resources and be more responsive to local markets, which drives readership, increases revenue, simplifies support and reduces cost. This implementation validates the mission and focus of Libercus to make multi-channel news publishing more efficient, reach more readers and generate new revenue," said Erlend Viddal, founder and CEO of E. Viddal & Associates LLC.
