A year ago, both Marci Burdick and Gary Hoipkemier announced plans to step back from their Schurz Communications roles – senior vice president of the electronic division and chief financial officer/senior vice president, respectively – at some point this year and to move into other roles as they transition to retirement. They will be moving to part-time status on March 31.

Todd Schurz, president and CEO of Schurz Communications said each "has done a remarkable job helping build our company and lead talented teams."

Effective April 1, Jessie Agostino is being promoted to chief financial officer and senior vice president. Schurz said Agostino has had a long and distinguished career with the company and has been promoted multiple times. As CFO, he will be responsible for treasury, tax, accounting policy, budgeting and reporting.

Brian Lynch is being promoted to senior vice president of cable. He currently leads the company's cable operations and directs acquisitions of Western Broadband, Orbitel and Long Lines.

Already a corporate vice president, Scott Schurz Jr.'s role is evolving to become vice president of human resources and administration, responsible for human resources, compensation and benefit strategy, talent recruitment and shareholder relations.

In addition, Chris Dautel, most recently broadcasting segment controller and responsible for acquisitions and shepherding the sales process of the broadcasting stations, has been named director of strategic planning and corporate development. He will be responsible for mergers and acquisitions valuation analysis, investments, strategic planning and real estate administration.
