Steve Stone resigns from Morris Communications

Steve Stone has resigned from his position as senior vice-president and CFO of newspapers for Morris Communications, announced by William S. Morris IV, CEO.  Stone was responsible for the financial management, shared services and global outsourcing for Morris.

"Steve's leadership throughout the past 13 years has been invaluable," Morris said, "His expertise in financial management helped us steer through challenging and changing times, and his contributions will be missed."

Stone's newspaper career has spanned 30 years as a financial executive at various newspapers and at the corporate level for Knight-Ridder and Morris. During his tenure at Morris, Stone also served on the board of NIIT Media Technologies, a joint venture between Morris and NIIT. 

"It's been a pleasure working with Steve, " said William S. Morris III, chairman and CEO of Morris Communications Co. "We appreciate his contributions.  My family and I wish him well in the future."

Stone is an active member of the Media Financial Managers association and a member of his alma mater, Southwestern College, hall of fame.  He speaks at various shared services conferences throughout the country.
