SNPA-Inland Annual Meeting, Oct. 6-8

How the Battle of New Orleans was won -- business, editorial strategies

Posted

In 2012, when Advance Publications reduced its print publication of The Times-Picayune from seven days to three, The Advocate, 80 miles north in Baton Rouge, moved into the city with a seven-day print New Orleans edition. Within three years, The Advocate overtook The Times-Picayune as Louisiana's largest newspaper, and in May 2019, Advance sold the paper to The Advocate's owners.

At the SNPA-Inland Annual Meeting, Judi Terzotis, president and publisher of The Times-Picayune | Advocate, and Peter Kovacs, editor, will detail the business and editorial strategies that led to its success.

The conference opens at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, and runs through Noon on Tuesday, Oct. 8.  View the conference agenda (see times on page two)
