Four Gannett papers in the Southwest will be shrinking their print editions

Three daily newspapers in southern New Mexico and one in El Paso, Texas, owned by Gannett, have announced that they will be making changes to their print editions, reducing their size in a shift away from print and towards digital. Papers involved are the Las Cruces Sun-News, El Paso Times, Carlsbad Current-Argus and Alamogordo Daily News, each of which became fully owned by Gannett in the summer of 2015. Prior to that, the papers were part of the Digital First Media group, with Gannett owning a minority stake in the papers.
