A joint effort of SCMA and MACMA, the 2019 conference will be one of the largest gatherings of circulation and marketing newspaper executives in the Southeast. This conference offers networking and access to key decision-makers from the top newspaper companies in the U.S.
The annual SCMA/MACMA conference gives newspaper executives the opportunity to network, meet, discuss, receive and give ideas, and learn about techniques to grow revenue and circulation for all types of circulation and audiences.
The 2019 conference will be held April 4-6 in Chattanooga, Tenn., at the Read House Hotel. (Only $159+taxes per night.) Regular rates are upwards of $300 per night.
There will be several breakout sessions on revenue growth, audience growth, expense cuts and cross-department programs.
This conference is for both publishers and circulation/audience executives. The conference will feature an ask-the-experts panel with sponsors and members asking questions of each other.
There is always the great "Hot Ideas" breakfast available for everyone to pass along their ideas that have been successful in the last two years.
There are several speakers/presenters, two legal professionals will attend and present (also available for questions) and after-hours events for networking.
Additional details will be available soon. We hope you will be able to attend and learn something new to take back with you. Mike Floyd, president of SCMA, invites you to tell him about things your newspaper has done in the last couple of years that have been successful. Share with him your program and its successes and he will put together a notebook of all the ideas for everyone to receive at the conference. Send your contributions to him at email@example.com.
Conference fees are very reasonable. It is only $65 per year to be a member of SCMA and the conference fee is just $145 (a 25 percent savings) if you sign up before Feb. 15. Costs increase to just $195 afterwards.
