Whether you're an Android or Apple user, there are numerous apps and tools that can make storytelling by smartphone easier. Sarah Self-Walbrick from the Lubbock (Texas) Avalanche-Journal shows you tips and tricks on recording and editing audio and video, taking the best photos and time-saving tools that make journalism from your cell phone possible and productive.

If you can't participate on April 25, no problem!  Register anyway and view a recording of the webinar at your convenience.

Our Presenter:

Sarah Self-Walbrick is the business reporter at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, where she has worked since 2017. She is a three-time graduate of Texas Tech University's College of Media & Communication. She also has professional experience in television, radio and public relations. Self-Walbrick teaches upper-level journalism courses at her alma mater, and is preparing to write a book about the history of restaurants in Lubbock.

SNPA members can register for webinars at no cost. The registration fee is $35 for other newspapers ($45 after April 22). Registrations will be accepted up until the day of the webinar.

Registration instructions for SNPA members:

  • Email paulette@snpa.org for the COUPON CODE to register free (if you don't already have the SNPA code)
  • Click here to begin the registration process
  • Click on REGISTER NOW
  • Fill in the required fields and select the number of registrations in the drop down "SPACES"
  • Ignore the $35 price
  • In the COUPON CODE field, enter the code that Paulette Sheffield gave you.
  • Hit SUBMIT

*Can't attend the program at this time? Sign up for the program and watch it when it's convenient for you with our webinar archives. You receive free access as part of your registration.
