Politically Georgia provides responsible reporting for informed citizens

Politically Georgia provides subscribers a new source for statewide reporting on Georgia politics. The AJC's experienced journalists will bring readers the most important stories of the day, with a focus on elections, health care, immigration, the economy, opinions and columnists. It is a complete source of credible information so voters can make informed decisions.
Features readers will find at politicallygeorgia.com include:
- Georgia's Legislative Navigator, a tool to track legislation and lawmakers.
- Voices, curated opinion writing from across the state.
- PolitiFact, a source of fact-checked statements of public officials.
- Take Action, a resource to contact lawmakers.
"There's nothing that affects the lives of Georgians more than their state and local governments," political reporter Greg Bluestein said. "And knowing how those state and local governments work, knowing what the governor and policymakers are doing – and how they interact and influence Georgians – is crucial to any informed citizen."
The Politically Georgia staff is supported by the largest newsroom in Georgia. Among the contributors:
- Greg Bluestein, reports on the governor's office and state political leaders.
- Jay Bookman, editorial columnist.
- Maureen Downey, shares perspectives on schools and education in the Get Schooled blog.
- Jim Galloway, longtime AJC blogger and leading voice on the Political Insider.

- James Salzer, state spending watchdog.
- Kyle Wingfield, editorial columnist.
"It is an important time in our history to be aware of political news," said Susan Potter, state government and politics editor at the AJC. "We know our readers care deeply about their communities, and our journalists want to help responsible citizens be informed on local issues so they can take action."
