GateHouse partners with Second Street for basketball Upickem
GateHouse Media has again teamed up with Second Street on a College Basketball Challenge Upickem contest for the NCAA men's tournament.
In the spirit of the season, here are some statistics on GateHouse's contest:
- The program includes 64 sites, some as individual websites and some as regional groups.
- Reported revenue as of March 27 is $295,000, which is up 18 percent from last year's contest at this time.
- There are 3,660 players currently participating.
"Our College Hoops Challenge offers advertisers a strong multimedia program reaching enthusiastic college basketball fans," said Rebecca Capparelli, GateHouse Media's director of sales training and development. "Combining print, digital and contesting, advertisers gain great audience and reader involvement. We are thrilled with the reader engagement we are bringing to our advertisers."
In February, Second Street, a leading provider of private-label online promotions platforms for media companies, announced that GateHouse Media had won the Second Street Award for best overall promotion. GateHouse's 2012 program resulted in more than $3 million in contesting revenue and grew the company's email database by more than 45 percent.
