The Weatherford Democrat seeks a forward-thinking newspaper professional to lead its team and its sister publication, the Mineral Wells Index, in north Texas.
Our publisher/advertising director must be knowledgeable about all newspaper departments, with an emphasis on sales management, and have a solid track record in driving revenue, effective expense management and growing the bottom line. We expect a skilled leader with the ability to create and execute a multiplatform sales strategy that covers print, niche publications, websites and mobile products.
The Weatherford Democrat is a 3,200-circulation, five-day newspaper, and the Mineral Wells Index is a 2,400-circulation, weekly newspaper. In addition to the newspapers, this person will oversee a community magazine, a variety of niche publications and a portfolio of digital products.
Weatherford is the county seat for Parker County and part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Mineral Wells is a neighboring community just 20 miles west of Weatherford. The area is home to Weatherford College and offers a range of recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast, including camping, hiking and swimming. Known for its community and family oriented way of life, Weatherford is one of the premier places to live in north Texas.
