Gannett's director of market intelligence headed to Borrell

Corey Elliott, director of market intelligence at Gannett Co. Inc., has accepted a position as director of research at Borrell Associates Inc.

Elliott will be in charge of all of Borrell's research operations, including divisions that handle direct consumer and advertiser research as well as the popular Compass (Adspending.com) product used by some of the largest media companies in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

"Having watched Corey's analysis skills grow over the years, I am elated to work with him at Borrell," said Kip Cassino, executive vice president of research. "He will take the research and analysis base we've built over the past decade to a new level."

Elliott comes to Borrell with more than 15 years of experience in strategy and research. As director of market intelligence at Gannett, he worked across the company's media properties to grow advertising revenue by providing research and data support.

Elliott will begin his work at Borrell's Williamsburg offices the first week in April.
