Matthew Ipsan, executive vice president of Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc., is leaving the company for another opportunity, effective Sept. 5, CNHI announced Monday.

Ipsan joined CNHI 6½ years ago as the company's chief digital officer. He was later promoted to senior vice president and then to executive vice president, overseeing digital operations, including revenue and marketing.

Donna Barrett, CNHI's president and CEO, said Ipsan contributed significantly to the company's success, and was "critical in building a progressive digital presence in all our markets. We are in Matthew's debt for helping guide us through a challenging transition."

Ipsan said he's enjoyed playing an integral role in CNHI's digital development and strategy.

"I'm proud of everything we've accomplished," he said. "It has been an honor and a privilege to work at CNHI. I will forever remember the people that make this company a terrific place to serve local communities across the country."

Prior to CNHI, Ipsan served as vice president of interactive media for the State Media Company of Columbia, S.C., a McClatchy Company subsidiary. He also has worked as a digital executive at ESPN and the Professional Golf Association Tour's new media division.
