Robert J. Edmonds is interested in business and newspapers, a combination he brings with him to the role of advertising director at the Opelika-Auburn News.

"Starting out, I used to like to see ads being built and seeing artwork put in the newspaper," Edmonds said. "But I've really grown more to see businesses grow. I like working with the community and businesses to see how they grow.

"And internally, I like coaching people," he added. "So it's fun to work with my employees and watch them grow."

Edmonds has more than 15 years of newspaper management experience, most recently at The Montgomery Advertiser.
