Eldridge appointed publisher of Corbin, London papers
Dave Eldridge, a 35-year newspaper executive, has been appointed publisher of the Corbin Times-Tribune and The London Sentinel-Echo in south-central Kentucky.
Eldridge currently serves as publisher of the Richmond Register in Richmond, Ky. He will continue in that role with his expanded regional responsibilities at the Corbin and London properties.
Bill Hanson, senior publisher for Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc., parent company of the newspapers, said Eldridge has the experience and knowledge to be a difference maker at The Sentinel-Echo and Times-Tribune.
"Dave has a solid understanding of the purpose of community newspapers. He knows the markets and has worked closely with the staff at both locations. That made the promotion an easy decision for me," Hanson said.
Eldridge's newspaper career includes senior management positions with Landmark Communications and Schurz Communications, where he served as publisher of several daily and weekly newspapers in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois. He also held management positions with Media News, Inc., Gannett Co. and Dear Publications.
Eldridge said he is looking forward to working with the staffs, residents and advertisers in Corbin and London.
"It is a privilege to work every day with people in our markets who believe in what they do and work diligently to gather and provide their communities with timely information," he said. "Our efforts are evermore important in a day where the internet has become a place to post literally anything and real news is at a premium for concerned citizens. Our goal is to be trusted to provide the truth."
