Charles G. Lee, an accomplished newspaper executive, has been appointed publisher and advertising director of The Lebanon (Ind.) Reporter and the Zionsville Times-Sentinel.

Lee is the former sales director of the Houston Community Newspapers and Media Group, which included 25 local newspapers in suburban Houston. He left the company after it was purchased by Hearst Newspapers a year ago.

Previously, he had been sales manager for the Houston Chronicle and also The Dallas Morning News, the two largest dailies in Texas. In addition, he served in sales roles at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Lee said he's looking forward to working closely with the residents and businesses of the Lebanon and Zionsville communities.

"This is a great time to be in the community newspaper business," he said. "Our role as a reliable source of local news and information in print and online has never been more important."

Linnie Pride, senior vice president of the newspapers' parent company, Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc., said Lee brings a wealth of newspaper and civic experience to Lebanon and Zionsville.

"His fervor, knowledge and commitment to community newspapers will serve both communities well," said Pride. "We feel fortunate to have Charles Lee join our team."
