Posted

Steve Lundblade has been named general manager of the McPherson Sentinel and the Newton Kansan. The Wichita native has over 20 years of experience in the newspaper industry, including advertising for five years the Wichita Eagle, eight at the Kansas City Star, and three years as the publisher for the magazine division of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Steve Curd, senior group publisher for GateHouse Media in Kansas, named Lundblade to the new position.

"I am very excited to have Steve join us at Gatehouse Media, and specifically as the general manager for the McPherson Sentinel and the Newton Kansan," Curd said. "Steve is a veteran in the newspaper business and will help us continue to be the leading news provider in these communities. He is originally from Wichita, so I know he is excited to be back home in southern Kansas."

As general manager, Lundblade will oversee revenue, budgeting processes of news and circulation, along with day-to-day operations, for both newspapers.
