Holgate takes leadership of Paxton's Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi papers

David Holgate, president of PMG Community Newsgroup, LLC's Indiana-Michigan Group, has assumed responsibilities for the company's newspapers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

"I look forward to working with the talented group of people in that region," said Holgate, who is based in St. Joseph, Mich. "I am also happy to announce that both Reece Terry and David Meadows have assumed new and expanded roles for the company."

Terry has taken over as publisher for The Jonesboro Sun in Jonesboro, Ark., and has oversight of daily newspapers The Daily Star in Hammond, La.; the Daily Corinthian in Corinth, Miss.; the Paragould Daily Press in Paragould, Ark.; and Paxton's newly acquired weekly newspaper in Newport, Ark., The Independent.

Meadows, publisher of The Courier in Russellville, Ark., has been named publisher of the company's newly acquired daily newspaper in Conway, Ark., the Log Cabin Democrat. Additionally, Meadows will oversee Paxton dailies in Batesville, Ark. (The Batesville Daily Guard) and Searcy, Ark. (The Daily Citizen), and newly acquired weeklies in Clinton, Ark. (the Van Buren County Democrat) and Heber Springs, Ark. (The Sun Times).

With Paxton's recent acquisition of The Rochester Sentinel in Rochester, Ind., and The Grand Haven Tribune in Grand Haven, Mich., Holgate is now responsible for a group that includes 22 dailies and six weeklies in Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan and Mississippi.

Paxton Media is a family-owned company headquartered in Paducah, Ky. The company publishes daily and weekly newspapers in more than 60 communities in the Midwest and South.
