Herald-Journal names Gabe Whisnant AME digital

Gabe Whisnant

Gabe Whisnant, managing editor of the Shelby (N.C.) Star, has been promoted to assistant managing editor digital at the Spartanburg (S.C.) Herald-Journal.

In his new role, Whisnant will direct a team that manages the mobile and online products of the Herald-Journal, the Star, the Gaston (N.C.) Gazette and the (Hendersonville, N.C.) Times-News. The four papers make up a regional group owned by GateHouse Media.

Whisnant takes over the duties of Tom Priddy, who is retiring from the Herald-Journal after 11 years.
